A stellar episode once again. Dare I say… best episode ever? Hmmm.

Ranger_000

Actually, when the Elite system was brought up in conversation last week, Frank first started asking the question about if the system started as black as a limited edition color, but then settled that it was not limited. Engadget first reported that the Elite was going to start black as a limited color, but then switch back to white (http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/20/xbox-360-elite-new-black-limited-edition-xbox-with-hdmi-and-120gb-drive/). After the official announcement of the system, Engadget then retracted their previous comment, stating that Microsoft decided not to make it a limited color and that the Elite would always be black (http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/28/xbox-360-elite-now-official/). When you guys were first recording your podcast, the information originally given out was incorrect, but after Microsoft announced the “new” details, your information became correct. I would also like it if you would not make fun of me on a medium that is available worldwide without allowing me to back up what I said, because not everyone reads the comments. Something that seem it would be useful to you is a little something called RSS, something that can be updated to show you the newest news on many tech blogs, and more, such as Engadget or Joystiq that will provide you the up-to-date information so that you don’t give the incorrect infomation out to your listeners, the 6 of you who know who you are. All you have to do is do a little research on the topics you would like to discuss before the show. Also, Justin, I would appreciate it if you had the little conversations we have correct before you bring them up with other people, just so it doesn’t seem like you are twisting my words around to make me look like an idiot. Then when I get wind of the situation and get the chance to explain myself, with evidence, make you look like a fool. So people, all you need to do is have the correct information before starting the 5-hour-long process of recording a 30-40 minute podcast.

-Ian

P.S. Work on that laugh or your Frank, it is not recording friendly (i.e. annoying).

Also, you are not right about the cost. As Albert pointed out, you can buy the core system and the larger HDD for the same price as the Elite system if the color is that imprtant to you. That is what they based the original prices on too. The Premium system costs $99.99 more than the core system, so the HDD is $99.99 on its own. As Justin was correctly pointing out before you so rudly interrupted him, the early adopters usually get the “shaft” later on when the company releases a revision of the system. Just like the one they are doing later this year. Oh what?!? You didn’t know about this, well here, let me enlighten you. Microsoft currently uses 90nm (Nano meter) chips in the current iteration of the 360, but has been researching and developing 65nm chips. What does that mean you say? Well it means that the electrons have to travel less distance, which means it is more efficient, and in turn make the console (theoretically) less likely to “break.” Microsoft has alreadly done a partial revision with the DVD drives. The launch systems and most of the units produced in 2006 used drives that are loud and obtrusive, but recently, Microsoft has been introducing BenQ drives into the mix, resulting in a more quiet system (http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/06/xbox-360-finally-quiets-down-with-brand-new-internal-dvd-drive/). Sure you are technically correct about the “$580” price you basically have to pay, but you should have been expecting a revision when you originally picked up your system. It is stupid to think that Microsoft should implement a system to upgrade to the new system. They believe (and rightly so) that if you(the consumer) feel as though you need extra space for demos, videos, music, IPTV (when it is released FTW!) or what have you, you will freely pay the difference. If you call me out, be prepared to back your stuff up…

Why did you post that here instead of just emailing him?

GTA IV takes place in fictional Liberty City, in which GTA 3 and the PSP game GTA: Liberty City Stories both took place in. Once again, get your facts straight.

31 03 2007
Ranger_000

Because I was posting as things came up in the podcast. Before he got to the e-mailing part. Also to back defend myself from the stupidity leaking from their mouths in a public forum.

ahahahahha the funny part is that you try to prove me wrong.Everyone else that listens to the show doesn’t go out of their way to tell me how bad it was, if it was a little off, they would tell me how to correct it. You actually try and find points to “make fun” of me. This amazes me that you haven’t sent me an email instead of talking to Justin. Thats all didn’t mean to offend anyone. If you think the show is that bad. Then don’t listen.

PS What does the recording process have to do with you anyway?

-Frank

Ha and I love how you think I have just 6 listeners and that I dont know what RSS is. Fine maybe some of your facts are right, but you just try to tear me apart ha, thats pretty pathetic if you ask me. If you are gonna give criticism, give it well. I did not make fun of you on the show, I just said to send me an email thats all.

And GTA is based on New York, maybe not exactly New York, but based on it.

Frank makes a point there Ranger. Maybe instead of trying to tear people down like you always do, you could offer constructive criticism.

How did Frank get the pricing wrong? We didnt even talk about the core.

Ranger – “Also to back defend myself from the stupidity leaking from their mouths in a public forum.”

The funny part is, the only stupidity came from your mouth.

Ranger – “Also, Justin, I would appreciate it if you had the little conversations we have correct before you bring them up with other people, just so it doesn’t seem like you are twisting my words around to make me look like an idiot. Then when I get wind of the situation and get the chance to explain myself, with evidence, make you look like a fool.”

Somebody here looks like a fool but I assure you it’s not me. I thought it was funny how you went out of your way to tell me how wrong the man was, and then he ended up being right. You should have apologized.

Since the day I told you I was on this podcast all you’ve done is tried to make fun of the man and say how stupid he is. If you have a problem with Frank, you can easily let him know.

What I said on the show was right, and it was a paraphrasing of the e-mail you sent me, so I don’t understand what ur complaining about.

The part about 5 hour recording, it makes you look like a fool when I told you numerous times we had problems with skype and/or people. You always compare this podcast to Major nelsons, Ranger quote “Major Nelson doesn’t take that long to record” and yet Major Nelson is one person. That’s not an even comparison. Before you go criticizing, lets hear your podcast……

31 03 2007
TheMan661

It takes Nelson 4 or 5 hours to prepare and record his show altogether over at achievementjunkie.com

Haha that intro was fantastic!

GJK 2256

Well excuse Frank for getting a couple of things wrong. We’re not all perfect although you seem to be so perfect and mighty. Why don’t you make a podcast? Let’s see how well that does. Keep doing what you do best Frank.

31 03 2007

Spelled “rudely” wrong

As Justin was correctly pointing out before you so rudly

Alright, Im gonna end this here. Ranger I have no problem with feedback, but an email would have been appreciated. I do not want to deter anyone new to the site from posting because of this arguement going on. Feel free to post comments, just dont let them get too out of hand.

Yay! (sarcasm) I get to respond to comments.

“Ranger – “Also to back defend myself from the stupidity leaking from their mouths in a public forum.”

The funny part is, the only stupidity came from your mouth.”

I am sorry that I did not hit the backspace button enough and did not proof read the comment before I posted it. So I am lost at how that makes me the only one saying stupid things. As always, your logic evades me.

“It takes Nelson 4 or 5 hours to prepare and record his show altogether over at achievementjunkie.com”

Does Nelson want a cookie?

“How did Frank get the pricing wrong? We didnt even talk about the core.”

When did I say you guys were talking about the core? That’s right, I didn’t! I was referring to what Albert said on Major Nelson’s Mid-week special. Maybe you should re-listen to it?

“Ha and I love how you think I have just 6 listeners and that I dont know what RSS is. Fine maybe some of your facts are right, but you just try to tear me apart ha, thats pretty pathetic if you ask me. If you are gonna give criticism, give it well. I did not make fun of you on the show, I just said to send me an email thats all.”

Are you serious? Frank, you have to be an idiot to believe I really meant you only have 6 listeners, it was a joke.

“And GTA is based on New York, maybe not exactly New York, but based on it.”

Yes, based on New York. Just because it looks similar, doesn’t mean it is. The correct name is Liberty City.

“GJK 2256 on March 31st, 2007

None of you morons got the message! Let me put it in all caps so that it stands out for you guys. ALL I AM SAYING IS DO RESEARCH ON THE TOPICS YOU PLAN TO DISCUSS IN THE PODCAST SO THAT YOU GET THE INFORMATION CORRECT!!!! And no, I do not think I am perfect, but I am a stickler for having correct information.

“ahahahahha the funny part is that you try to prove me wrong.Everyone else that listens to the show doesn’t go out of their way to tell me how bad it was, if it was a little off, they would tell me how to correct it. 1. I don’t see how I “tried” to prove you wrong, ’cause I think I did. Any person with some common sense and some reading ability can see that.
2. When have you been “a little off”? If you were just a little off, do you think I would be here?
3. I spoke with Justin in hopes that someone who has a part in the making of these podcasts would try to change it for the better. But apparently my hopes were set too high, and Justin just let my words go sailing in one ear and out the other, which happens a lot.
4. I listen because my friend is on the podcast, and in hopes that he had conveyed my message to you. I also listen because this podcast does have potential, but you guys just can’t seem to reach it yet.
5. All I said about the recording process is that your laugh comes accross a little annoying.

“Somebody here looks like a fool but I assure you it’s not me.

You always compare this podcast to Major nelsons, Ranger quote “Major Nelson doesn’t take that long to record” and yet Major Nelson is one person. That’s not an even comparison. Before you go criticizing, lets hear your podcast……”

1. Yes, he was accidentally correct. He was lucky.
2. I told you those things I hopes you would tell him so that I would not be sitting here having to explain all of this.
3. How about you don’t paraphrase, my previous comment about you twisting my words still stands.
4. Major doesn’t always work alone, you should know this, two weeks ago, he had two guest hosts.
5. The only reason I would still look like a fool right now is because since the internet is available to everyone, including stupid people, is if these said stupid people were reading these comments.

Also, during the podcast, you said that we ran into each to each other on Monday, which could have possibly happened, my memory on hanging out with people isn’t the best, but how could I have sent you information that night if it wasn’t reported for another 2 days? Last time I checked, I don’t have psychic powers.

I will now pull a Ranger

Ranger says “I am sorry that I did not hit the backspace button enough and did not proof read the comment before I posted it. So I am lost at how that makes me the only one saying stupid things. As always, your logic evades me.”

Jedi says “Hit the backspace button. Its not that hard. Unless you’re so weak from watching anime that the backspace button is 2 hard 4 u. And yes you are lost. Out of everyone who has read this, you are the only one who doesn’t understand my logic. That should tell you something.”

“How did Frank get the pricing wrong? We didnt even talk about the core.”

Ranger says “When did I say you guys were talking about the core? That’s right, I didn’t! I was referring to what Albert said on Major Nelson’s Mid-week special. Maybe you should re-listen to it?”

Let me refresh your memory Ranger,
“Also, you are not right about the cost. As Albert pointed out, you can buy the core system and the larger HDD for the same price as the Elite system if the color is that imprtant to you.”

Jedi says, “Looks like you mentioned the core right there. Maybe you should re-listen & re-read.”

“And GTA is based on New York, maybe not exactly New York, but based on it.”

Ranger says, “Yes, based on New York. Just because it looks similar, doesn’t mean it is. The correct name is Liberty City.”

Jedi says, “The first trailer suggests that the setting of the new game will be a redesigned Liberty City. If confirmed, this would be the fifth time that the series would use Liberty City as a setting. IF CONFIRMED”

“GJK 2256 on March 31st, 2007
Well excuse Frank for getting a couple of things wrong. We’re not all perfect although you seem to be so perfect and mighty. Why don’t you make a podcast? Let’s see how well that does. Keep doing what you do best Frank.”

Jedi says, “the only thing you said Frank got wrong was the pricing. When u mention the core (even though u said u didnt). Frank was right in the pricing becuase he talked about how much it would be for all who bought the premium (including u Ranger). What else was incorrect? You keep saying how incorrect we are in our info and yet you don’t tell us what was incorrect.”

Frank says “ahahahahha the funny part is that you try to prove me wrong.Everyone else that listens to the show doesn’t go out of their way to tell me how bad it was, if it was a little off, they would tell me how to correct it. You actually try and find points to “make fun” of me. This amazes me that you haven’t sent me an email instead of talking to Justin. Thats all didn’t mean to offend anyone. If you think the show is that bad. Then don’t listen.

PS What does the recording process have to do with you anyway?

Ranger says “1. I don’t see how I “tried” to prove you wrong, ’cause I think I did. Any person with some common sense and some reading ability can see that.”

Jedi says, “I guess noone who read this has any common sense because I don’t see one person that agrees with you”

Ranger says, “2. When have you been “a little off”? If you were just a little off, do you think I would be here?”

Jedi says, “why are you here?”

Ranger says, “3. I spoke with Justin in hopes that someone who has a part in the making of these podcasts would try to change it for the better. But apparently my hopes were set too high, and Justin just let my words go sailing in one ear and out the other, which happens a lot.”

Jedi says, “what was that? I didn’t hear u.”

Jedi said = “Somebody here looks like a fool but I assure you it’s not me. I thought it was funny how you went out of your way to tell me how wrong the man was, and then he ended up being right. You should have apologized.

Ranger says, “1. Yes, he was accidentally correct. He was lucky.”

Jedi says, “what a coincidence”

Ranger says “2. I told you those things I hopes you would tell him so that I would not be sitting here having to explain all of this.”

Jedi says “I told the listeners what you told me. Don’t get angry because Frank ended up being right.”

Ranger says “3. How about you don’t paraphrase, my previous comment about you twisting my words still stands.”

Jedi says “I have to paraphrase in order to keep the listeners attention. If I repeated what you said word for word, I as well as the listeners would fall alseep”

Ranger says “4. Major doesn’t always work alone, you should know this, two weeks ago, he had two guest hosts.”

Jedi says “I never said he always worked alone. Don’t twist my words (ranger quote). You should know that Major Nelson’s podcast is a solo podcast with occasional guests that he records in person. Now in comparison, Corran lives in Boston, I live in Phoenix, Frank lives in Liberty City, and Tony lives in Virginia. Now I know this is a surprise to you but those places aren’t close to each other. Its a different situation than Major Nelson has. Strange how you don’t see the logic…”

Ranger says “5. The only reason I would still look like a fool right now is because since the internet is available to everyone, including stupid people, is if these said stupid people were reading these comments.”

Jedi says “So you’re saying you look like a fool. I’m glad we all agree.”

Ranger, “Also, during the podcast, you said that we ran into each to each other on Monday, which could have possibly happened, my memory on hanging out with people isn’t the best, but how could I have sent you information that night if it wasn’t reported for another 2 days? Last time I checked, I don’t have psychic powers.”

Jedi, “That part I was incorrect on. I saw you on Tuesday, then you e-mailed me THAT SAME DAY. So I said the wrong day but your actions were still the same. You saw me Tuesday morning, told me Frank was wrong, and then Tuesday night e-mailed me telling me Frank was right. Ranger how does your shoe taste? (Insert foot into mouth)”
